Harvesting Breakfast

How wonderful to have freshly grown fruits to cook with!!  Last Wednesday George & I met up with an old friend in Berrien Springs, Michigan.  She had located fruit farms growing apricots & blueberries.  Wow was it hot!!!  My bucket was only half full of gorgeous apricots, fortunately George had a bucket full.  The trees were loaded with fruit.  We decided just to buy the pre-picked blueberries.
   This morning I made fruit cups with watermelon, fresh apricots, & fresh blueberries.  Our waffle batter was also full of blueberries & served with a blueberry syrup made with cornstarch & lemon juice.  It was hard to decide which tasted best George's fried green tomatoes or the blueberry waffles with fresh blueberry syrup!
