Easter 2010

Indiana is beautiful with Spring everywhere. Birds, daffodils, forsythia, hyacinths, birds, soft breezes and wonderful sunshine. George gathered bunches of our flowers for our tables. He and Leslie set up tables and the Easter brunch buffet. We have so many foods on our buffet that it takes careful planning. Our beautiful dining terrace is surrounded by glass. It really shows off our pond and gazabo ahd bridge. People enjoy eating there.

Leslie is trying to go organic and to feature Cass County foods. We have neighbors who raise range chickens, eggs and lamb( featured on our menu.) Others grow buffalo, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Our kitchen gardens have provided chives, leeks, and mint as volunteers. Leslie is excited that her hugh rosemary plant survived on our glassed in terrace. Several of her most popular dishes have rosemary as their taste booster. I am ready to plant our new tomatoes, peppers, lettuces and herbs.

Many of our guests return each year. Several live nearby but we don't often visit. Easter Sunday shows off just how goodlooking and sharp they look when they are in a more formal mode. We had many old recipes for them to enjoy. Many of them are good cooks themselves and are being treated for Easter. All compliments are appreciated and theirs mean alot. We hope that we will be hosting them for more years to come. Easter brings new hope and a new beginning with spring.
